Kurinuki

I am particularly fond of a Japanese technique called Kurinuki – the word means carving out a hollow. The technique allows everything from strictness, playfulness, skewness, fragility and more. It is a very meditative way of creating with clay. Almost all my Kurinuki are raku fired.
